TDP settles seat-sharing issue with two left parties

HYDERABAD: While the TRS-TDP stalemate continues, the TDP and the two left parties came to an understanding on the issue of seats to be shared between them.
TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, B V Raghavulu CPM and K Narayana CPI discussed the issue for about three hours and worked out a formula on seat sharing.
According to party insiders TDP has agreed to give upto two lok sabha seats to each of the left parties and about 15 to 20 assembly seats. The leaders also discussed the stalemate between TDP and TRS.
All the three leaders spoke to TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao over phone and told him not to drag on the issue for long. Later, talking to media, Naidu expressed confidence that the matter would be sorted out in next couple of days and a formal announcement would be made on January 29 which happens to be an auspicious day.
He said that there would be no threat to the grand alliance and all the four parties would work together and see that the Congress was defeated. However, the left party leaders are understood to have advised Naidu not to concede more than what he had already offered. Meanwhile, it was learnt that TDP delegation led by former minister, T Nageswara Rao held talks with TRS leaders and after the talks Naidu and left leaders had with Rao, a broad understanding on agreeing for about nine Lok Sabha seats and 45 assembly seats has been arrived at.
Naidu said that a committee consisting of representatives of the four parties would be constituted to finalise the joint campaign on corruption which would be launched from the first week of February.
