Exactly seven people in the theatre when the film started rolling and you can't help but notice this change. There was a time when people came in droves to watch a SVK movie but blame it on the inflation or better sense that is prevailing, the audience are not going to have any more crap dished out every friday with stories that have no plot, no logic. TV serials have no logic but atleast we have the remote in our hand to switch it off or surf through when we are disgusted but this is one of those movies where you wouldn't even want to react or rate it.
story :visually impaired youngsters Siva (Shivaji), a deaf (Srinivas Reddy) and normal guy Pandu (Ali) are good friends and they live together. They meet a beautiful orphan Anupama (Anchal) and give shelter to her. In the mean time, Siva falls in love with her. But there is a twist in the tale. She actually is running away from a goon called Bahadur (Mukul Dev) who pressurizes her to love him and she has a lover too
analysis:The director must have made the film to please the government he is supporting in the coming election, because that is the feeling one gets after watching it. The heroine even says that is the reason why we have schemes like arogysri to her friend.

S.V.Krishna Reddy who lost his magic long back comes with Mast this time to regain his past glory. But the movie clearly proves that SVK is still languished in early 90’s and his style of narration is clichéd and boring.
Not a single scene in the movie is praise worthy. Most of the movie seems like a street play. Nor are the performances are good. Technically too it is substandard.
There is one absolutely nutty scene in which Raghu Babu approaches Sunil to purchase a pistol and Sunil tests it by shooting his assistant and when the reaction is one of shock, Sunil replies, "maaku praanalu kante ekkuva customer satisfaction important". Here the director shows that he has utter disregard for neither the lives or customer satisfaction.
The film is so bad that one feels trapped in this corny effort. Lastly it's beyond comprehension as to why the film was named Mast in the first place. Was the director referring to Sivaji's tinted hair or the heroine's slim and dainty waist?
BOTTOM LINE: Try this film at your own risk.Mast is an entirely avoidable film. A big bore. No two ways about it. One wonders how does corporate company Zee Motion pictures okayed this dumb script.
