Veteran actor T. L. Kantha Rao the yesteryear hero had an image on par with big time stars like NT RamaRao and A. Nageshwara Rao. He had played the lead roles in over 400 films with different characterization in every movie. Fondly called as ‘Kathula’ Kantha Rao, the name came in following his folk movies that featured him fighting with swords often.The actor has been ailing from cancer since the past few months. With no proper financial support for treatment, he made a request for the people of the film industry and the government to lend him a helping hand. Chief Minister of AP has donated one lakh rupees from the Chief Minister’s fund to help the actor. Till now, excluding a few, many of the prominent film personalities have not turned up yet. It will be a generous act if people in Telugu industry donate their contributions to save Kantha Rao.
