KARIMNAGAR: Communist Party of India (CPI) floor leader in the Assembly Chada Venkat Reddy has alleged that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy is again planning to deceive the people of Telangana region by announcing that the Congress party alone can give statehood.
“How can the Congress party give statehood for Telangana when its president Sonia Gandhi has never uttered a word on issue after the party was elected on the Telangana sentiment in 2004,” he questioned.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that there was no meaning in constituting a joint House committee to study the statehood issue at this last juncture. What had the Pranab Mukherjee committee done for the formation of Telangana, he asked.
