The rebel star, Mr Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju, who was the former minister of state for External Affairs in the Bharateeya Janata Party (BJP)-led government, has neither confirmed nor denied the reports that he is migrating to the Congress party.
Speculation has it that Mr Krishnam Raju, after being assured of the party ticket to contest from Narasapur Lok Sabha constituency in West Godavari district, has agreed to quit the BJP and join the Congress party. There were rumours since Sunday night that the film actor-turned-politician would announce his joining the Congress on Monday.
When confronted by reporters on Monday afternoon, Mr Krishnam Raju wanted to know the origins of the rumour and who ignited the speculation. He, however, neither confirmed nor denied that he will join the Congress party.
