Film actor NTR Jr. kicked off his first-ever political campaign on CHAITANYA RATHAM at Ichapuram on the Orissa-Andhra Pradesh border on Thursday with khaki shirt and trousers to express his solidarity with the working class and the common man in the State along with flaying the Congress for its role in institutionalising corruption in the State. “I do not know the Sri Rama in the epics but I know of only one Rama who brought a sea change in the State and national political scenario. He identified himself with the poor and the helpless and was synonymous with Telugu pride and culture,” Jr NTR said amidst huge fan fare.
He criticised Congress and said that the welfare schemes and developmental projects were used as avenues for indulging in large-scale corruption in the State. He addressed milling crowds in Ichapuram town, Dasannapeta junction, Kanchili and Haripuram which took him on a 100 km journey on Thursday.
Most of the time he was in praise for his grand father saing that everything that the late NTR did had won acclaim and recognition and he had become a rallying point for the national Opposition leaders and also said that Chandrababu Naidu is today strengthening his legacy and continuing all that was started by the founder-president of the TDP. K.Yerran Naidu and Gouthu Shyam Sunder Shivaji were among those who accompanied him.
