AK Lohithadas one of Ace Malayalam Directors dies today

Mohanlal and Priyadarsan developing an IPL team from Kerala

Priyadarsan is in an Idea to start a cricket team from Kerala for the next IPL season in 2010 with the amalgamation of his childhood friend and Malayalam super star Mohanlal who is an all rounder in cricket, earlier when they had a team says Priyadarsan.

And at present he is full-fledged in working out the process of constructing a IPL team from Kerala with the help of Kerala Cricket Association (KCA), affiliated to BCCI, which is looking to add more teams to the premier T-20 tournament.

To encourage the local talent to world wide IPL, while there are more talented players in nook and corners of Tamil Nadu and Kerala waiting for an opportunity to prove themselves in the international cricket in spite of lack exposure and world class training facilities, says Malayalam super star Mohanlal.

To storing up, these two stars has roped in Shashi Tharoor, the Thiruvananthapuram MP and the new Union Minister of State for External Affairs as chairman of their team, to be called City Cricketers.

The project which will cost around Rs 250 crore and two NRIs and a few corporates came forward for sponsors, the former Indian player and fielding coach Robin Singh has been signed as the technical director.

The KCA will approach the BCCI with their proposal, and if all goes well, they hope to start IPL innings next year says Priyadarsan. more>>>
